Temperatures are in the high 30's, and the animals in the forest of Agistri have been suffering as there is no natural water supply on the island. Many of the wild animals that form the backbone to our forest landscape suffer from the summer heat and many die at this time of the year.
With this in mind, Friends of Agistri have donated 99 euro to purchase 9 animal water feeders to be placed in the forest to provide the wild tortoises, lizards, birds and other visiting animal a source of water. Two other water feeders have been supplied by individuals making eleven water feeders in total.
